Krammer, I know you've been bombarded with a lot of info. Some good some not so good. The Avet 5.8 was not the best choice for your first bait caster. How ever having the MC installed by the factory will make it a great big game surf casting reel. A much better choice for what you want to do is ...

All four of the 30" reds were caught on a heavy duty 100lb mono slider rig, 5/0 circle hook, 8oz storm sinker, tipped with half a blue crab. The whole story to follow soon.[image]

No Roy we didn't! We had to buy ours. Most of the Pomps were caught on fresh clams.
