I am looking for some good tips for fishing St. Georgia Island.  I have done a little surf fishing SGI in the past, but with amature tackle and experience.  This year I am looking to change that.

I have been told by someone to go to the old bridge and use a sabiki rig and catch some pinfish.  Then use cut pinfish on fish finder rig in the surf.

Does that sound like a good plan??

Any info is welcomed!!

Sounds like a winner! Personally; I like to give a live pinfish swimming lessons on a short fishfinder rig. You really don't know what may eat it.

If you want to use an old Cracker trick for redfish, use a whiting head on a 7/0 circle hook. Be generous when cutting the head off. A  slight shoulder helps. Eat the whiting.

Something about a whiting head that turns one on. JMHO C2

A Sea Mullet head (Whiting) is the bait of choice of many Big Red fishermen on the Outer Banks where "Drummin" is damn near a religion. They rig 'em just the way Charlie recommends; only the head is trimmed so they can get more distance on their cast.  I don't think we need to cast that far to reach the fish, so I also leave the head a little fleshy.  Over here in the Atlantic many times a 100 pound Blacktip will eat the bait and give you a thrill with a few jumps and some determined fight.
