dools,

Ft. Desoto has two piers: one in Tampa Bay , another at the estuary of Tampa Bay and the Gulf . Both piers have bait , depepnding on wind , weather , and tidal flow ; bait has been spotty .   The beaches are located all along the shoreline of the park.

Reports within the last week show gags , sea bass , trout, redfish, mangrove snapper, sharks (small), macks ,  and flounder.  Occassional kingfish are sometimes available  .The only consistant catching within the last week seem to be the flounder , and spanish mackeral .

For flounder , look for potholes and darker sandy waters adjacrent to deeper water .  Check your maps. Fish slow ,... and then slower .

Spanish Macks seem to "hit-and-miss" , with the best baits being livies and spoons .
