I couldn't wait for the weekend so i got out to the beach about 5:40 this morning. Fish were biting at first light and i had a cooler full at 8:30.

What made this morning different is the variety of fish that i caught. I caught 9 different fish- balck drum, red fish, sheephead, whiting, catfish, spade fish, spotted pinfish, mangrove snapper and hairy blenie. Oblivously , not all kinds of fish made it into the cooler, but just catching such a variety of fish is very cool.

Just a comment, haven't seen many postings for Central East Region. If your not fishingnow, you are missing some good fishing.

Thanks!  I'll try it.  I have just gotten back into surf fishing and have forgotten how much I enjoyed it. Been going up and down the beach looking for good spots.

Welcome back. Here is some advice if you want it. I try to go about 2 hours before high tide and fish till about 2 hours after . Cast short and fish the first trough. I would also go there at low tide and find some holes in the rocks so you can cast far without snagging every time. Line your hole up with a landmark so when you go back to fish you will be on spot.

If I want to fish and its low tide, I will go down to Sebastian at the parking  lot just south of the inlet. Its sand and there is a nice trough.

Good luck
