It looked perfect - high tide was a hour after sunrise, there was a light northeast wind, just enough wave action and water clarity was good. Looks like a perfect morning for fishing and the Fishin Buckeye is gonna be late for work!!

Started catching fish immediately at about 6:15 am and didn't slow down till i left at 8:15. Ended up with a dozen whiting in the cooler including several bulls and one mutant monster on steroids, 2 good sized black margate and a mangrove snapper( where did he come from?). Looks like a fry fry tonight.

And i still managed to get to work by 9:00

I'm crying over here Buckeye!  Good report.  Haven't been to the surf in about a month (being chasing specks and reds in the river)...I haven't had much going right (got stung by a catfish and a stingray in the same foot...argh!)  Perhaps, I should break out the surf gear again and have at it...I hear those margates are good eats!

I was in Satillite Beach. I went back Saturday morning and did just as well - 15 whiting.

Those black Margates are good eats. Nice thick, firm filets.

Buckeye,

I heard that pomps were at Satellite Bch as well--any truth or just "bait shop buzz"?
