Fished first light  with fresh dead shrimp and live clams. Stayed busy till about 8:45. Count in the cooler was 16 whiting, one big black margate, one black drum and one sheephead. Very cool. Big fish fry tonight.

Add to that about a dozen catfish that I threw back and I would say i had a very busy morning.

I already took a trip to the bait store to stock up for tomorrow morning.

Ain't it great living in paradise.

Buckeye,

Man, you are dedicated and "making it happen" in the surf this summer.  I have moved back about a mile to the rivers (Indian and Banana) for some mangrove snapper fishing and I got my first limit (5) today...Those snapper will be good tomorrow for dinner...  OBTW, I did catch a whiting on a live menhanen (go figure)....

Hey Flea-flicker,

Only river fishing i do is on Mathers bridge. I usually only catch a lot of pin fish and undersized trout. I see people wading the river bur have never done it. I am addicted to the surf.

Had a great weekend. Saturday it was rough but I managed to catch 5 balck margate and 10 whiting. Those black margate are very tasty deep fried.

Monday i went down to the first parking lot south of Sebastian inlet. Much better fishing conditions. came home with 14 whiting and a look down. Not only was it a good day for fishing, the waves were perfect for a little body surfing!! Doesn't get any better than that.

Buckeye,

Sorry for the late reply and glad that you are still "locked in" on those surf fish...now that school is just about in again; I'm heading out to the surf (got burned out on snapper fillets..

Had a great summer in the river; got dialed in solid on snapper and I "limited out" almost every trip...  Oh well, are those margates still biting?
