LTI 06.04.10  (N/A) Modified By Chad on 6/6/2010 10:29:25 AM

Rode the bike south towards E, the beach has lost some of it's features so I decided to head North as the sun came up. First stop around the PVC T loaded three rods with crab and waited.... pulled in two rods to move then number three goes off with a nice BH in the high teens.

Moved down past H put out another three rods and waited.... the current was moving pretty good on the backside of the bar. Fished a couple poles in close in a deep slough. Again as if was relocating rod three doubles over with another large BH, this one I decided to harvest.

Found a nice point past the tree line and switched up to all sand fleas, I was done with the Bonnet Heads for the day, as the tide turned in I put 1 pompano and four nice whiting in the box and decided to leave around 10am for my 45 minute bike ride back to the truck.

There is a bunch of crabs in the water even the crab knuckles would get eaten off rigs, also saw some mullet schools. The water was dirty, just a tad bit cleaner towards the sound but not much.

What happend Saturday, a dozen surfcasters at LTI and no reports yet?

Pray hard, work hard and fish harder....

We had one 12" whiting, a few dinks and a few shark pups. I think Noel had the most action playing with the BH's.

Re: LTI 06.04.10  (N/A)

My neighbor and I missed the open gate and biked in late.  Headed south of "C" but the fishing was slow for pomps and whiting.  Biked back North to see how BigMan22 was doing.  When I arrived, one of his poles was bobbin'.  He reeled in a double ladyfish catch.  I took one of those back and put the head on my shark rod and about 30 mins later I had some excitement.  Got it over the sandbar and about 15 yards from the beach when it went nuts and apparently tail whipped my braid.  I had a 5' "shark rig" from Strike Zone with wire leader and very heavy mono but the break was clean somewhere above that on my braid.  I would guess between a 4' - 5' shark.

I kept chunking out pieces of the ladyfish and had two more hook ups.  On thrased around on the sandbar and the hook came loose, the other just came off.  Both of those felt smaller than the first.  Caught a 10lb BH on crab and threw it back.  My neighbor caught a decent whiting.  I chunked another piece of crab out beyond the sandbar and told my neighbor to grab it if necessary.  I wanted to concentrate on whatever was eating the ladyfish.  The BH rod did go off and he grabbed it and landed his first BH ever, about 15lb - 20lb range.  He was ear to ear and having a ball.  He later caught an 8 inch whiting and I decided to put that on my shark rig.  I waded out to get it as far past the second bar as possible and right as I was putting the rod back in the holder, it was fish on!  I finally landed this one and it was around three feet but thinner than a three foot BH.  It was either a blacktip or atlantic sharpnose.  It is dinner for tonight!

Good to meet you BigMan22 and thanks for the ladyfish, it kept my day exciting!
