I have three rods that are not getting the use I thought they would, so they are available for purchase -- local pickup only (JAX - Palm Coast).

#1 is a 4 meter (13'3") 3-6 Oz. rod. It is a prototype "Match" rod for a UK rod manufacturer, and it never went into production because the South Korean manufacturer could not meet the stipulated price point, or other such business reason. I am the only owner, and as far as I know, this rod is the only one like it in the US. I bought it from Tom Burness (aka Rockhopper) in May 2005 when he came over for holiday. The rod got plenty of use for the first two years I owned it, but fell victim to my preference for my AFAW 13' "Surf" rods which were custom built for me. Mike Foster said it was a great casting rod, and Paul Anderson (aka Fishing Mortician) cut his conventional teeth on this rod - then went on to throw 700+ feet (but not with this rod.). It is a terrific  fishing rod, and supposedly, is a copy of the old, very popular zziplex 2500, that is no longer in production. It has Fuji guides wrapped in basic black, which looks good on the dark green blank. The reel seat is a "coaster" which is adjustable to accomodate the individual caster's reach. It has some normal wear and tear scratches, but is in real good condition. A  2 piece 1 piece rod, it has an 8 foot tip section and 5 foot butt section. This would make a great rod to use for both fishing and to see if you liked distance casting. I paid $275 for it and will part with it for $150, or trade for a like valued spinning reel.

#2 is a Tica I purchased in the Fall of 2003, which has been the second or "backup" rod for shark fishing. It did catch one nice six foot Blacktip, but has gone unfished for several years. The rod is 11'6" Fast Action and is rated at 4-10 ounces. The sweet spot I believe to be 7-8 ounces. The reel seat is fixed at 29". In excellent condition (like a 9.7), I will sell for $75 or consider a trade for a spinning reel of equal or greater value with cash to make up the difference.

#3 is an 11' 3-8 ounce Fast Action Tica that belongs to Guy Fitzgerald. He loaned it to me to see if a student may wish to buy it.  It looks like it has never been cast (a true 10). Guy will take $75 for the rod.

The first to say " I'll Take It" gets it. Again, no mailing, local transfer only.

Still have 3 rods for sale, except that rod # 1 has been traded for another rod which is immediately on the block. The new rod for sale is a Daiwa Trybeam 35-405. This interesting rod is a high-end rod for the Japanese market. It is a 3 piece rod and the forerunner to the now more popular Daiwa "Saltiga" which is marketed here in the US.  This Trybeam has never been fished, only practice casted a few times by Suellen and myself. I bought it from Guy F with Suellen's money she gave me to get her a good rod..  The butt to reel seat was too long for her. It is a 4-6 ounce rod and at 13', will flat sling a 4 or 5  ounce lead with either a conventional or spinning reel, because it is rung with the Fuji concept guides - lowriders. It has good bite detection. I used to use one several years ago and sold it to gather $ for the purchase of new AFAW rods. (The lure of the custom built overcame me.)  Guy f. fishes his Trybeams over his Conoflexs, Zziplexes, Ian Golds and other customs.

Rod is for sale on P&S for $250. Rod is for sale here in club for $200.

Oscar has right of first refusal.

Hi Jeff,

I'm interested in rod #3. I believe the 11' is a spinning rod? correct? and the 11'6" is conventional? I believe that the Tica 11' is what I need to pair with my Baitrunner. Also, if you have any other combos I may be interested. Thanks, Terry
