Re: hookectomy  (N/A)

My latest edition uses PVC rather than wood and has a cord grip. Lanyard for sure. Just don't use one on your gaff.

Speaking of which: I make mine the same as for dehooker. I use a big fish hook with barb ground off pinned through the PVC handle with a cord grip. A small loop to hang it up with; not to go around your arm. JMHO C2

Re: hookectomy  (N/A)

Bud, This of extreme interest to me! That last Blacktip rashed up my ankles real bad. Does it work with big circle hooks? Does it seem to matter if you twist clock wise or counter clock wise? Could you post a picture. Did you say you were going to make a longer one for smaller fish?

Charlie2, Good you post up a picture of your dehooker and gaff? Thanks Noel

Even if you don't catch fish you're still at the beach. It's a Win Win!

Re: hookectomy  (N/A)

Here are pics of the bidness end. It works well with big circles, but like I said, the bolt body should ge longer to reach down smaller throats.
