My buddy caught this 6' - 7' footer just north of Vilano inlet in August of last year. Looks like they may migrate through our waters about this time each year. He was yakking his bait out two to three hundred yards and was occasionally hooking up with tarpon as well. I believe he was using a ladyfish or whiting rigged with a stinger hook for this catch. Indeed, an awesome fish!

They are a special fish. I had a 50 wide Okuma blue water set up with the drag all the way down. Several times when it made a run around the back of the boat I had to losen the drag, incredibly strong fish.
