Vilano Tiger Shark  (N/A) Modified By Chad on 8/27/2010 7:57:36 AM

My buddy wanted to take his new 17' key west trolling for kings or tarpon. We followed a flock of birds to a huge slick of dead croakers, bicatch from the shrimping boats. Made a couple of passes through the chum line and there it was, a large shark feeding casually on the dead fish. We trolled by it and bam he hit one of the stinger rigs. After getting the beast to the boat at least four times, just for it to take another run, we finnaly cut the wire leader leaving a 2/0 vmc trebble in it's cheek. We were about two miles from the Vilano inlet and estimated the tiger shark around 7'.

Nice catch Chad!

Not a fish you'd care to have in the same slough with you as you go chest deep through the wade gut to get to the bar so you can sling it way out there!

Nice shark, I'm with everyone else that I don't want to see it swimming off the beach either.

Nice catch and I think there are more around then most folks think.July and August are when they're caught around here.

I caught one in Vilano Inlet about 4-5 years ago that went 25-30lbs.Here is one pretty one from the Jax Pier last July.
