Classes for 2010 are finished, so would one of the moderators kindly unpin this thread so that it may drift south with all the others. Thanks for keeping it at the top!

We had a smaller group for class 2010-2. There were eleven students;  five of which took all the sessions. Casting class went well last Saturday. To my surprise everyone wanted to cast conventional tackle -- glad I brought a couple of spare reels. Blowups are expected when throwing for the first time. Most of the students brought their own gear -- some really good new stuff showed up out there. Penn 525 super Mags, the new Avet sx Mag and  various rods that were well matched.

I was pleased to have a few FSC old timers show up to take a specific session. And, finally, William was able to attend, making the last two sessions.

There will be a "fish together" session at Varn Park for all the 2010 students (Jan./Feb students as well as the Jul/Aug students). We'll practice what we went over in class. Hopefully the storms will stay away and the Pompano will have started their return migration south. I'll try to e-mail or call each of you with a reminder.

There will be classes convening again in January 2011

Jeff, Thanks for a great learning experience. Before starting the classes I thought I knew a thing or two, and I come away from your classes realizing just that...I only knew a thing or two. I not only have a new wealth of knowledge, but also many new friends. I've still got a long way to go before becoming a "Rafter Master", but I know I am now much better equipped (literally) and much better mentally and physically prepared to truly enjoy surf fishing. See you on the 25th. Dave
